There’s now less than a week until the 2020 election and several things are happening at once—efforts to suppress the democratic process, massive early voter turnout, and questions on how the newly stacked conservative Supreme Court will factor in to the president’s strategy to hold power.
President Donald Trump and the Republican Party are upping their efforts to stop the vote count come election day, installing Justice Amy Coney Barrett right in time to ensure the Supreme Court will rule in Trump’s favor. But it also appears that early voting is through the roof and a huge increase in young voter turnout may help sway the Election Day counts toward Vice President Joe Biden and Democratic candidates for the U.S. Senate.
There’s a lot to pay attention to, but in this video I try and synthesize some of the concerns, some reasons for hope, and what you can do to make sure your vote is counted.
