MAGA Drag: Trumpists idea of political action

Trump supporters took to the streets last weekend, just not on foot.

MAGA Drag the Interstate, as it was called, saw Trump flags flying as trucks, SUVs, convertibles, and bikers cruised through interstates, cities, and even blocked bridges nationwide, including here on the Central Coast of California. Some of these events included violent altercations with pedestrians and other vehicles, including a Biden/Harris campaign bus in Texas. President Donald Trump retweeted video of that incident, saying “I love Texas!” because of course he did.

I find it very telling that this is the Trump supporters’ idea of political action—cruising around in a car, truck, SUV, bike, or even boat. These are things we all do every day, but for Trump supporters, it’s a way to visually impose their support on the roadways with no more effort than filling their gas tank and mounting a flag. And in some cases, literally with the boat parade, they don’t mind who they leave in their wake of destruction.
